Lawrence Bloom

Chairman / Activist {posthumous}

Lawrence Bloom was Secretary General of the Be Earth Foundation, a UN Inter Governmental Organisation which advises, assists and enables implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals on behalf of those countries with which it has Treaties.

He was Chairman of the Global Strategic Advisory Boards of Dakia Global Enterprise LLC, a Holding Company creating a significant hotel subsidiary and other major initiatives … and Rothbadi & amp; Co, an Institutional Advisor on leveraging Blockchain.

Lawrence was Chair of Be Energy, a green energy company specialising in the conversion of waste and plantation timber to sustainable energy projects.

He was voted by SALT magazine as among the top 25 most Conscious Global Leaders, and in 2016 received an award at the UN from the Humanitarian Innovation Forum for Conscious Leadership.

Lawrence was appointed the first Chairman of the World Economic Forum Global Agenda Council on Urban Management and he was alumna of all Agenda Councils. He was former Chairman of the UN Environmental Program, Green Economy Initiative, Green Cities, Buildings and Transport Council. Lawrence also served as an active member of the Corporate Responsibility Advisory Group of the ICEAW.

Having sat on the Executive Committee of the Intercontinental Hotel Group from where he managed their $3Bn.global real estate portfolio, he created a hotel environmental manual subsequently adopted by HRH Prince Charles which is currently in use in 5 million hotel rooms worldwide. It gives guests the option of not having their towels washed every night.

He assisted David Gershon in the creation of Global Action Plan, an initiative designed to impact personal lifestyle choices around sustainable consumption. Currently successful in 23 countries, it was chosen by Sky TV to be their Charity partner of the year.

He was Vice Chair of Climate Prosperity Strategies, an initiative of Global Urban Development created to demonstrate the economic benefits of cultivating a sustainable society. He was a Member of the Jury of the Globe Award for Sustainable Cities, held annually in Stockholm, Sweden.

Lawrence was also a member of the Corporate Responsibility Advisory Group of the ICEAW and was a member of HRH Accounting for Sustainability Group. He also sat as an Advisor to Hazel Henderson's Ethical Markets.

His passion was to support breakthroughs and groundbreakers borne of the current systems breakdown. Lawrence believed this will enable an emerging society which truly grasps the interconnectedness of all things … thereby harmonising conscious economics, social wellbeing, and environmental responsibility into a healthy, thriving, and abundant culture.
